Increase your incoming LEGAL links

Incoming links are valuable, although their importance has been diminished as part of the last Google algorithm update. It is important to stay away from link scams in favor of direct links to legal themed sites. In addition, I would strongly suggest that you set up minimum link standards when considering potential link partners:

A. Google Page Rank of 3 or higher.

B. Maximum of 20 links per page.

C. A direct hyper-link from the site’s Index page to the link page(s).

D. Link page is static html only!

E. Any link is ok, but one with your keyword(s) is the best way to go.

For example:

OK link:  http://www.legal-advice-library.info  Legal site that provides extensive, free informative legal articles and legal resources for California, Nevada and Texas.

Preferred link: Legal advice articles  Legal site that provides extensive, free informative legal articles and legal resources for California, Nevada and Texas.

F. Good, short descriptions, so you can get some additional traffic while providing the duel benefit of higher search engine standings.

G. If your potential link partner’s link page is a ‘framed’ page or opens clicked on links in a ‘frame’ avoid the trade.

H. Check your link popularity as well as your competitor’s link popularity on a regular basis to gage your linking plan’s progress. *Note, email me for totally free link popularity software that will allow for you to do this and more for six of the largest search engines. (Windows only)

I.  Make sure you only do direct trades and not triangle links. For example, site A requests that site B trade links. Site A does not intend to put site B’s link on their domain but, on another affiliated site C.  This is a poor trade for site B.
